SMC pursues selective and in-depth downstream manufacturing investment. In recent years, SMC has significantly expanded its steel manufacturing operations. Key highlights include the galvanized steel production plant at Phu My Industrial Zone — integrating pickling, cold-rolling, and galvanizing processes with a designed capacity of 300,000 metric tons per annum, which commenced operations in January 2019 — alongside the SENDO Steel Pipe manufacturing plant, a joint venture with Hanwa Corporation of Japan, with a capacity of up to 180,000 metric tons per annum, and the SMC-Toami (Vietnam-Japan) welded wire mesh manufacturing plant, specializing in the production of welded wire mesh with advanced technology and superior quality standards.
